Certificate of Ministry – Graduate Level
Christian Ministry, Feminist Christian Ministry, or World Religions Ministry
Program Objective: Program enhances your ministry and develops your ministerial skills. You are allowed to custom design program in order to receive background needed and/or desired.
Program Overview: Program consists of nine academic courses and a ministerial project.
Prior Learning and Life Experience Credit: It is possible to be awarded prior learning and/or life experience for up to two of the required courses.
Eligibility: A bachelor degree is required to be accepted into this program.

Bachelor of Religious Studies Degree
Program Objective: Provides a solid foundation for ministry and allows you to custom-design your program by selecting courses from each category of the curriculum.
Program Overview: Our Bachelor Degree program consists of the 60 upper division credits of the 120 credits required, 30 core requirement credits and 30 electives.
Prior Learning and Life Experience Credit: It is possible to be awarded prior learning and/or life experience for up to 30 of the 60 required credits. Thirty credits must be earned through Global Ministries University.
Eligibility: Students are expected to already have earned the 60 lower division credits; however, it is possible to be accepted into program with less than 60 lower division credits by taking additional courses through GMU for an additional charge. (Contact Admissions Office for details.)
Master of Theology Degree
Program Objective: Can be completely custom-designed and allows you to choose courses that would enhance their particular ministry and/or ministerial background.
Program Overview: The program consists of 36 credits which include a thesis. However, two additional courses may be taken in lieu of thesis.
Prior Learning and Life Experience Credit: It is possible to be awarded prior learning and/or life experience for up to 16 of the 36 required credits. Twenty credits must be earned through Global Ministries University.
Eligibility: A bachelor degree is required for acceptance into program.
Master of Divinity Degree
Program Objective: This is the standard degree for pastoral ministry and offers a thorough background in ministry. It is a practitioner degree and is therefore more structured than our other programs. Its curriculum seeks to utilize the framework enunciated for this degree by the Association of Theological Schools (www.ats.edu).
Program Overview: The program consists of 90 credits: 82 core requirement credits, which include a unit of clinical pastoral education (400 hours), and nine months of ministerial experience, and 8 electives. Its curriculum provides for the following specific areas of competency: Sacred Scripture, History of Christianity, Systematic Theology, Ethics and Morality, Spirituality, Ministerial Praxis. This program is more disciplined, requiring courses to be taken in all of the above categories, however, it offers flexibility in the choice of courses within each category of study.
Prior Learning and Life Experience Credit: It is possible to be awarded prior learning and/or life experience for up to 50 of the 90 required credits. Forty credits must be earned through Global Ministries University. The assessment for the M. Div. Degree program looks at the candidate’s prior learning and life experience through the specific lenses of those areas of the curriculum. Credits are awarded at the discretion of the dean of program and dean may require documentation of the prior learning and life experience submitted.
