Kendall Kennedy, law professor and co-director of Harvard’s Academic Freedom Council, depicts the issue as an attack on freedom itself. “What’s happening at Harvard, Columbia, and other universities is unprecedented in U.S. history. Contrary to Vice President J.D. Vance’s characterization, “Universities Are the Enemy” (Vance’s keynote address at the second National Conservatism Conference, 11/02/21), universities are entrusted with the education and advancement of future generations. This sacred obligation should never be undermined or abridged for political convenience or expediency.
